“Only through our connectedness to others can we really know and enhance the self. And, only through working on the self, can we begin to enhance our connectedness to others”
-Harriet Goldhor Learner
Although at times we feel alone in our trials and triumphs, that is not true. We temporarily forget our internal connection to Source and our inherent need for connection to people and nature. When we do remember these bonds, we are re-energized by the cycle of receiving and sharing the natural flow of divine energy. By emptying ourselves through selfless service, we are replenished to serve again. We feel inspired and we inspire others. Come join us for a day of renewal and reconnection through meditation, discovery, support, and friendship. Register here. Once you register you will receive more information, including the location and directions. Act quickly as space is limited.

This class, taught over two Saturdays by Jean Wetzel, will be a very simple and brief introduction to the ancient astrology of India, known as jyotish. We will discuss the basics of looking at a North Indian astrological birth chart, as well as looking at some charts of famous people as models for interpretation. Primary topics will be astrological signs, houses, and planets and how to assess strengths and weaknesses in an individual’s chart.
The text book for the class will be “Vedic Astrology: Simply Put”, by William Levacy. It can be purchased through Amazon or any other online retailer. (There will not be any books available at Awakening. Please purchase your book ahead of time.)
For those who would like to dive deeper into to the topic “Light on Life” by Hart de Fouw is suggested reading.
This six hour course is offered with a suggested donation of $50.00. Register here.
Jean Wetzel is a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist. She graduated from the California College of Ayurveda in 2007. Jean has been studying jyotish (Vedic astrology) since 2009. In addition to teaching, she is available for individual consultations with Vedic astrology clients. Jean is a long-time yoga practitioner and teacher, holds a PhD in Chinese Art History, and was a professor of Asian Art History for 29 years. Jean thanks all of her own teachers – past, present and future – for their inspiration and support.
