2010 Yardsale Successful

Once again, AWAKENING participated in Morro Bay's annual city-wide yard sale. Gaining a reputation in town as having the best merchandise at the best prices, our community volunteers did an awesome job at organizing all the donations helping to raise $2,200.00 this year!

EVENTS IN 2009
	Songs of the Soul Women's Retreat November 2009 VIEW PHOTOS Nov. 7, 2009 twelve women came together for "Songs of the Soul Women's Retreat" at a beautiful home in Atascadero, CA. With a backdrop of autumn leaves falling from the trees, we enjoyed drumming, chanting, journaling, tai chi, time in conversation, and quiet reflections in nature. After sharing a healthy lunch we created and took away a project to remind us of insights gleaned from this day. This inaugural group unanimously agreed to come together in another women's retrea in 6 month. We hope you will be able to join us at that time.
	Honoring Our Ancestors Sept 09 VIEW PHOTOS Our annual honoring our Ancestors event was a beautiful morning filled with music, stories, a powerful ritual and special activity for children and families. 	Spring FUNdraiser VIEW PHOTOS April 2008 our annual Spring FUNdraiser was a huge success. Thanks to everyone who participated!
	The Soul Of Prosperity Retreat VIEW PHOTOS April 27 we celebrated the Soul of Prosperity at our Interfaith Retreat Day. The Coalesce Wedding Chapel in Morro Bay is the beautiful space you will see in the pictures.
	Commitment to Peace May 25, 2008 VIEW PHOTOS On Memorial Day, 2008, the AWAKENING Interfaith Spiritual Community felt there was no better way to honor those who have given their lives in war than by our Commitment to Peace. We place a Peace Pole in our community garden as an ongoing symbol of our individual and community commitment to peace. Special thanks to Anne for planting and tending our peace garden, to Russ for creating our peace pole and to Nate for his offering of sacred music during our ceremony. Our Peace Pole says "May Peace Prevail on Earth" in Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, and English representing our commitment to worldwide peace.
	Pet Blessing July 2008 VIEW PHOTOS Though the weather was gloomy our spirits were high. A wonderful potluck and blessing gave us time to remember our animal companions through the years and bless those present.

	Ordination Commemoration VIEW PHOTOS Sunday October 21st, we celebrated the 7th anniversary of Rev. Nancy's ordination.
	Garden Party VIEW PHOTOS Sunday, March 25, 2007 Spring brought community members outside to spruce up our grounds and plant several new plants.
	Youth Blessing VIEW PHOTOS Sunday, February 11, 2007 ... to honor the Divine so sweetly found in the faces of our youth. As we bless our own children, we acknowledge and bless all youth throughout the planet.
	Pet Blessing and Community Picnic VIEW PHOTOS A favorite July event, this year several pets were blessed on a beautiful part foggy, part sunny day.
